About Newcastle Airport
Newcastle Airport started
life on the 26th July 1935 - a grass runway, a club house, a hangar, workshops,
an ambulance room, a hose for petrol and a garage. Newcastle International
Airport lies some 5 miles/8 kms North West of Newcastle next to the village of
Ponteland. It is close to the A1 trunk road which gives quick and easy access
to Newcastle City, Tyneside, the Scottish Borders and indeed Edinburgh which is
